Il Farneto

Il Farneto winery was born in a unique land that, over the centuries, has remained unchanged, isolated, and unspoiled—an alternation of woods and clay gullies with fertile, living soils, an oasis of biodiversity where one would not expect to arrive just a short distance from the Po Valley plain.

A love for agricultural tradition led Marco Bertoni to revive native grape varieties such as Spergola and Marzemino, planted alongside Lambrusco, Termarina, Malbo Gentile, Malvasia di Candia Aromatica, Trebbiano, as well as international varieties like Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and Pinot Noir.

Marco has always stated that his primary goal is to safeguard the environment and preserve the beauty of the land for future generations. His vision goes beyond simply producing wine; for him, every bottle is a testament to his commitment to the earth, a tribute to an environment that, unfortunately, is too often neglected.

The vineyards are cultivated using organic and biodynamic methods. The grapes are hand-harvested with full respect for their natural ripening process and are immediately taken to the winery—the beating heart of the estate—located at the center of the vineyards.

Il Farneto is a story of dreams, passion, experimentation, and a continuous search for authenticity. Each vintage is different and brings new challenges and opportunities, yet the heart of the estate always remains the same: to produce a wine that tells the story of the land, its rhythms, and the passion of those who craft it. Marco Bertoni and his winery strive to give their wines the same sincerity, uniqueness, and purity that define their philosophy of life, blending tradition, respect for nature, and innovation.
